“Let me answer for you,” he shot back.

“Do I have a choice?” she asked.

“You’re not down there helping because you know I’m right,” Flash said. “I don’t know why the big guy in the cape and that human bowling ball I just ran into are telling you that we’re still enemies, but I believe you know that we’re not. Don’t you think that if we were committed to your destruction, we would have brought the entire Justice League to wipe you out, to show what great ‘heroes’ we were, rather than just sending our little two-person scouting team?”

KA-THOOM!

Before Blaze could respond, both she and Flash slowed down at the sound of an explosion, followed by a deep rumbling in the gorge below.

“Uh-oh,” Flash said, coming to a halt. “That’s not a good sound. Not good at all.”
